We then returned to Las Vegas for a tour of the Grand Canyon (along with Hoover Dam and Lake Mead) before heading for home.

Harnessing the wind.

Getting ready for the tour (OK, fly-over) of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Grand Canyon.

Hoover Dam. The white line just above the water represents the decrease in the water level of the lake over time, which currently is about 100 feet.

Kings Canyon, toward the upper-right end of the water pictured, was the original location for the dam.

Lake Mead (the man-made lake created by Hoover Dam) is huge, and actually each separate "basin" is named separately.

The view from a helicopter flying down the center of the Grand Canyon just below the rim is indescribable. The pictures don't do it justice.

A good aerial look at The Strip as we return from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas.

The Stratosphere is at the north end of The Strip.

The Luxor has rooms in the Pyramid as well as 2 towers (we stayed in the pyramid).
